Pickleball Polish Cup 2025 – Warsaw hosts world competition

Międzynarodowy turniej pickleballa w Polsce

On the last weekend of August, Warsaw became the pickleball capital of the world. On the courts of Legia Tennis the first event of the rank of WPC World Pickleball Championship – Pickleball Polish Cup 2025– was played in Poland. The event brought together almost 100 players from Poland, Great Britain, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, France, Romania, Vietnam and the United States.

For three days, nearly 400 matches were played in singles, doubles and mixed categories – both at the professional and amateur level (including 50+ and 3.5). The tournament turned out to be not only a sports feast, but also a great attraction for spectators – the stands of Legia’s central court during the three days of competition were visited by nearly 3,000 people, who could admire the struggles of top players and try pickleball themselves.

Pickleball – a sport that is conquering the world

Pickleball is a dynamic racquet game that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It was born in the United States, where today more than 50 million people play it. The discipline is taking continents by storm – from Asia to Australia to Europe – and is considered one of the fastest growing sports in the world.

Poland is not lagging behind. Pickleball can already be played not only in Warsaw, Czestochowa, Poznan, Lodz, Bydgoszcz, Zielona Gora, Wroclaw, Kielce, or Bydgoszcz, but also in smaller centers like Zdunska Wola, Pszczyna or Ustroń. Warsaw is becoming one of the main centers of the sport – pickleball can now be practiced at Legia Tennis, at the hall in Nadarzyn, at Lavo Jozefoslaw or at Polna 7a, among others. Already in mid-September the first club with four dedicated courts will open – RQT Spot in Bielany.
