Joanna Jędrzejczyk will compete in the PICKLEBALL POLISH CUP 202

Joanna Jędrzejczyk zagra w Pickleball Polish Cup

This will be one of the highlights of this year’s PICKLEBALL POLISH CUP. Joanna Jędrzejczyk, UFC champion and one of the most recognizable figures in Polish sports, has confirmed her participation in the tournament, which will take place July 17–19, 2026, at the Legia Tenis courts in Warsaw. On July 17, Joanna will take to the pickleball court, demonstrating that this rapidly growing sport attracts not only fans of racket sports, but also athletes and sports personalities looking for new challenges.

From the Octagon to Pickleball

Joanna Jędrzejczyk was introduced to pickleball in the United States, where the sport has been experiencing a real boom for several years. Today, she plays regularly, hones her skills, and sets ambitious goals for herself. One of them is to reach a DUPR 5.0 rating, which is a very advanced level of play in the international pickleball player rating system.

Her participation in the 2026 PICKLEBALL POLISH CUP is a source of great joy for us, but it also sends an important message to everyone who is just getting to know this sport. Pickleball is easy to get started with, but at a higher level it requires speed, reflexes, tactics, and intense focus.

A sport that brings generations together

Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. The game is played on a court smaller than a tennis court, using a paddle-style racket and a lightweight, perforated ball. This means that players can start exchanging shots after just a brief introduction, and the game itself quickly becomes very rewarding.

It is precisely this accessibility that is one of the reasons pickleball is gaining popularity so quickly. It is played by children, teenagers, adults, seniors, amateurs, former tennis players, badminton players, and squash players, as well as people who have never played a racquet sport before. Pickleball is social, dynamic, and very engaging—regardless of age or skill level.

A global boom and growing interest in Poland

In the U.S., pickleball has already become a full-fledged sporting phenomenon. New clubs are being established, along with dedicated courts, professional tournaments, and broadcasts featuring the top players. The sport is also growing in Canada, Australia, Asia, and Europe, and the number of tournaments and places to play is increasing year by year.

A similar trend is becoming increasingly evident in Poland as well. New courts are popping up in various parts of the country, along with local communities and initiatives promoting pickleball. In Warsaw, the PickActive Foundation has opened nine seasonal courts at Tor Stegny, available to players through the end of September, and Legia Tenis is developing its own pickleball section. This shows that the sport is beginning to build a solid infrastructure and an ever-growing community in Poland.
